The programme

AfreeBack structures the return of African diaspora talent and the sustainable reintegration of returning migrants, through a digital matchmaking platform, a diaspora mentorship scheme, and an awareness programme against irregular migration.

Piloted in Mali, Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire, with outreach in Europe and North America, the programme pursues a co-development approach and seeks the support of organisations such as the International Organization for Migration.

Facing the dual challenge of irregular emigration and unstructured return migration, AfreeBack mobilises the diaspora not only as a beneficiary population but as a resource: investors, mentors and technical partners for the continent.

Objectives

  • Structure the return of African talent based abroad
  • Ensure the sustainable economic reintegration of returning migrants
  • Mobilise the diaspora as investors, mentors and technical partners
  • Raise awareness against irregular migration in departure areas
